During the spring and summer, a lot of people suffer from what is commonly known as „hay fever“, pollinosis or seasonal allergic rhinitis; an allergic reaction to the inhalation of pollens.
When these pollens are inhaled by a person with a sensitized immune system, they trigger the production of certain antibodies (Immunoglobulin E or IgE) that bind to mast cells and basophils. These cells then release inflammatory mediators like histamine, that cause the classic “hay fever” symptoms: sneezing, itchy and watery eyes, swelling and inflammation of the nasal passages and an increase in mucus production.

According to recent views, the hormone testosterone is of great importance for the way humans (psychologically) react to sexual stimuli. This goes for men as well as for women. While testosterone regulates and activates certain sex centers in the brain, nitric oxide (NO) and its metabolite cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) regulate the enhanced blood flow to the sex organs, or to be more specific: to the corpi cavernosi. These sponge-like tissues in the penis and clitoris fill with blood during arousal and are responsible for the enlargement of the penis in the male and the clitoris in the female.Sleeplessness

A lot of people in our society have stress. And although the term “stress” hat a very negative ring to it, stress is a very functional reaction. The term stress was introduced by Hans Selye in 1937 as: “Stress is the body´s nonspecific response to a demand placed on it”. He called these demands: stressors. The body´s stress response is making sure that the body can cope with things like infections, wounds or emotional circumstances.COPD: a growing problem
